Ok.....I feel like an idot because I still haven't gotten the weave. Right now it is the only thing holding me back from advancing. You would think that I wouldn't be able to do everything else, but it's just the weave.
My cousin says that my left hand goes retarded everytime I try it.
Which she would happen to be correct. I have been working on many techniques in order to learn it, but nothing I have done so far seems to be helping.
Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate the suggestions.

The wheel keeps going the same way. Poi goining forwards at the top, backwards at the bottom. It just slides along the axle to move from side to side.

Depends on what you're talking about? Are you talking about just doing a weave with your hands held high and back at bit? Or are you talking about the windmill, which is something you can do while turning from a forwards to backwards weave?

Windmill is a wall plane move, so to go into it smoothly you should turn 90 degrees from the direction you're facing when doing a weave. This is why it's done inbetween turning a forwards into a reverse weave, which is a total of 180 degrees of turn; you do a 90 degrees turn, do a windmill, then turn another 90 degrees to go into the opposite direction weave

i reckon putting in a windmill is easier if you're going from reverse weave to forward weave, cause it's got more of a natural upward motion.

I learned the weave after doing a similar move but in same time. That is, crossing your arms. In out. And switching between what hand was on top of each other... THink this move is just called Crossing??

Anyways... After you feel good with that, taking the next step. Spin the Poi into split time, 180 degree from each other in wheelplane (The right and left side of your body in neutral position) You will be crossing your hands almost like what you did in the practice. You're right, it's a windmill/weave type thing that i was looking for...and just to offer some advice, sometimes it helps to shorten up the poi so you can try to go through the motions all out in front that way you can see what you're doing (if you don't have a mirror)...that's what i did and it helped me get the idea of what i was going for

Ok, well, I didn't know I had naturally turned the 2-beat into a 3-beat to accomplish this. So tonight when I went to try the 3-beat again, it just happened, and then I realized I'd learned it by accident yesterday!

Not good, Im using a home made pair made from socks rice and some good skate shoe string. They seem to work good enough for practicing except for the fact that my loops keep on coming apart.

Try using a bowline loop or a double eight loop if you're using shoestring as your handle. Or fashion a separate handle out of other materials (ball, loop, or stick, the latter probably being the cheapest and simplest and, I find, most comfortable).
