Hey

My name's Kat

I'm 21 and from a lovely city of Edinburgh (possibly the best city in Scotland)

I'm currently a student doing a health care course that would take far too much explaining and you'd still not understand what it was when I'd finished.

I did fire swinging for a couple of years (but very basic unskilled stuff) with a youth project I helped run when I was about 16 however after reading all the fire safety and stuff we probably shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near it! biggrin

Haven't done any for a while with being at uni but saw some chains on sale on ebay and remembered how much fun I'd had with it in the past, did a google search and well... here I am. With a long summer ahead of me I guessed now was a good time as any to start again.

Unfortunately at the moment I'm the biggest fire hazard you could meet so I don't think I'll be using fire until things are sorted and I'm less of a hazard.

Anything else anyone wants to know feel free to pry though I may decide not to answer if you're too personal! smile

My summer officially has started.... biggrin

no come on, we should give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he has managed to go out and buy something that isn't black... there again, maybe someone got him it as a present to try and inject some colour into his life.

So come on, what colour is your supposedly "not black" shirt and did you actually buy it yourself?

Well, actually
a) I didn't buy it, Kit got it from the free trade thing at Forest,
b) it's green, gold and brown in a rather strange, aztec-like pattern. The only black on it is tiny lines outlining shapes.
I'll be wearing it to the Meadows later, and for fire tonight, so I can prove to you all that I don't always wear black

is there such a thing as matching socks? Aren't they saved for special occasions like births, marriages and funerals?

Life would be boring if socks matched all the time, after all you wouldn't be able to embarass a conference room full of businessmen if their socks matched. Oh hang on, that's just me that that's relevant to. ubbrollsmile

I shouldn't have smoked last night.

Yeah but I was using them to keep the midges away, honest. (they've got rid of the stern starey smiley that I wanted to put here) But it was just such a waste to just let them burn so I had to smoke them as well. I'll try using midgey repellent next time.

Plus I guess if I hadn't smoked them all last night they'd still be tempting me (and no, don't even mention the fact I could just have not bought them in the first place)

And you know my view on medics tongue

if the colours match you're doing alright in my book. If the socks actually match, you're obviously obsessive compulsive.

I have a friend who considers it a religious observance to *never* wear matching socks. Probably makes his life easier until he gets to the bottom of the drawer and there's only two in there and :gasp: they match!!!!

Ok, now that could also be seen as verging on the obsessive too.

I'm supposed to be washing up but I keep getting distracted.... also I'm really not liking the new faces, this one is far too smiley for a rolling of the eyes rolleyes

I'm something of a traditionalist when it comes to smiley faces. I use smile, :| and occasionally tongue

As for the socks, I wear matching socks occasionally, it's just a statistical probability

well you can't be a traditionalist now as they've changed the :| face, in it's place they've put eek which really doesn't convey the same thing I don't think. That was the strange starey one I was on about earlier.

yes, feel free to continue hijacking my thread. My flatmate's fab art skills are to blame for the picture looking like me. She did me a rough pencil sketch when she was bored one day so I added a bit of colour to it. I can't take the credit for it unfortunately...

(see Mike, that's what I was on about with them being more talented and arty than me!)

Looking forward to meeting the rest of you lot. If you're all as half as charming as Queen Molly it will most certainly be a lovely summer. biggrin

you didn't miss much

only things of interest were meeting NYC, and Jo NOT running at me in greeting (hehe, such a restrained young man in front of parent figures ubbrollsmile )

all the fun people left early anyway wink

and none of you were around this morning to be disturbed by me in a suit (apparantly it was odd)

but people can't look disturbing in a suit!? Suits make guys look so much nicer apart from the rare few who actually look much better in jeans and a hoody....

and yeah, you should be sorry Jo, you people and your sensible "oooh but is that really wise" and your "should you be doing that! tongue Sensible people always spoil my fun!

I missed Jo NOT running eek damn, I didn't think that was possible, I should have come out just for that (and the meeting NYC of course but that would have been less shocking! wink )
