Posted:Phhewww, it's getting real confusing.

At first saterday was supposed to be this joyfullness.....

Quote:
Starts 12 noon Central Bank

- 12 Noon Central Bank, Dame Street, Dublin

- CARNIVAL FOR A BETTER WORLD-

.......SAY NO TO RACISM, WAR AND CORPORATE GREED.......

Speakers (including Susan George and others), street theatre & music. Bring colour, noise and messages of welcome for immigrants, peace; public services not private profit!

- CARNIVAL FOR A BETTER WORLD-

.......SAY NO TO RACISM, WAR AND CORPORATE GREED.......

=========================================================

1.30 PM Carnival leaves Dame Street to go to Phoenix Park where the 25 EU heads of state (including Ahern, Blair and Berlusconi) are meeting

=========================================================

2.30PM Carnival of Diversity begins at Pheonix Park- Irish and World Music

Including Don Baker, Kingsativa, Soukous Allstars, Afrikico, Gospel Choir, Jinx Lennon, Happy City Samba School, Subtitles & many more....plus very special guest!

Why join the Carnival on May Day?

Celebrate diversity- Give Cead Mile Failte not just to new EU accession states but to people from all over the world- It is hypocritical to call May 1st a day of welcomes when the government is pushing this racist referendum and deporting asylum seekers.....

No to EU Warmongerers Ahern, Blair and Berlusconi- End Occupation of Iraq and Palestine, End militarisation of EU, Preserve Irish Neutrality........

May Day- Workers Day- No Privatisation

The EU and Irish government are pushing de-regulation and privatisation –across all public services. Stop sale of public housing, health, education, bin tax, break-up of CIE, Dublin Bus and Aer Rianta. We can unite on May Day- Workers Day – to oppose the corporate agenda of neo-liberalism and profit

Another Europe is Possible is a broad based alliance. Supporters include:

Mick O Reilly (ATGWU), Des Bonas (DCTU), Patricia McKenna (Green Party MEP), Pat Cahill (ASTI), Barry Nevin (SIPTU Aviation Branch), Irish Anti-War Movement, Residents against Racism, NGO Peace Alliance, Irish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Campaign against the Bin Tax, Community Workers, Sinn Fin, Socialist Workers Party, Workers Party, Socialist Party

Now we have this and in summary this.

Even I'm wondering if I should go now but I know it's all hype....wierd. There is unbelievable haype everywhere at the moment. Water cannons, parks closed sections of city will be closed.

The army's everywhere.... people being arrested. Tabloids going mad, I myself forgot what it was supposed to be...

happy happy *juggle* juggle *juggle*

ubblol ubblol

or should i be laughing....?? confused

it's all just bullshit hype & propaganda.

i witnessed the same thing at shannon airport last year, shortly before the us invaded iraq. a mass demonstration was organised to protest against our goverment's breach of our constitution in allowing american warplanes stop to refuel at shannon. thousands of police in riot gear accompanied by the biggest german shepards you've ever seen, helicopters all over the shop. they were supposed to be preparing for rioters storming the aiport perimeter fence and tearing it down ('twas shortly after mary kelly was arrested for attacking an american warplane on with a hatchet). nothing of the sort ever materialised, but back then they did succeed in keeping the numbers away, unfortunately frown and the whole operation cost the tax payer 4 million euro eek

i'll be in town anyway, hope to see you there james....

peace

peace peace peace peace peace peace peace

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely smile
