re Coles Myer, I've applied there as well. Unfortunately no matter how well you do, as long as they can hire someone just old enough to work who'll work for minimum wage, they'll probably not take you in..
On the other hand, where one door shuts another opens? Hang in there!

On the job front, i put a cover letter and resume in at a local firm, broadspectrum Australia. Hopefully will hear back from them in the next couple of weeks.

If not, anyone know of any electrical/instrumentation apprenticeships going nearby to where you are?

Hey there MiG - you could awlays go in for someone like Holdens, or u could try registering with ManPower, they log technical trades people and have apprenticeships, or try Pt Adelaide Training and Develpoment centre... they are also quite good...www.patdc.com.au or 8447 4411.

Broad spectrum sounds like a chemical firm...
What about a mining job. I gather many places like Kal if you are upright you can get work. Short term solution while you sort other stuff out.
