Posted:Damn it's hard to learn poi in a vacuum.

This winter has been so brutal to my poi skills. I've only learned two moves in the last 7 months (forward and reverse 4 beat TTN.)

I'm uninspired and the weather isn't helping. I know that there must be a few of you in similar boats. So I figure if we post what we're working on it might be a motivator to improve. (Either that or you people need to pass through New York City more often.)

So what specifically are you all workin' on?

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.
[They do not move.]

Posted:Have just about got the forward weave => backwards weave => btb weave thing, except for yesterday when I split my lip. Damn beaming poi! and am trying to expand my one handed stuff a bit more.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

Posted:With poi, currently working on and have been working on for about a year is quadruple poi in one handed butterflies and their transitions.

Trying to clean up my throws and also messing with double suicides.

With staff trying to get more horizontal contact moves.

With Diabolo, pretty much everything.

With Juggling, mills mess

With devilsticks, cleaner stops and alternating direction buzzsaws.

So much too learn, so little time!!

airwraps and hyperloops galore
turning with BTB
more stuff with isolated buzzsaws
neckwraps that don't add some weirdo chinwrap in on the way out
some bizarre over the shoulder nonsense Rob came up with

butterfly kicks
1 handed cartwheel move (needs work)
pendula combos
double tosses
split time tosses (juggling)

not poi related (yet):
turtles (man do i need to start doing pushups)
front walkover/handspring
back walkover/handspring
general strength and flexibility

damn this is a good topic we should all print out our lists and go play in the park...once the fu*&in rain stops (i think today makes 3.5 consecutive weeks of rain)

Posted:hey LeSkunk I've been waiting for you to post again: do you remember me? I'm sunbeam/eva we met just before and after 9/11 - little blonde English girl who sang Janis Joplin with Erin in Brooklyn.. ring any bells?

hope to see you again sometime remember you've got a bed/floor whenever you make it to London.

PM or email me please

Back to the thread
I'm currently working on everything but mainly still trying to get the btb weave (shocking I know but I haven't been practising), isolations, a nice flow with poi and staff and a bit of contact stuff. Also a few more under the legs moves - I loved the stuff I saw you do in NY. Hope to hear from you soon honey
