So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

all i wanted for my 6th birthday was a carebear, but my family was poor, so my mum bought a cheap bear and sewed a love heart onto its belly. she said to me "the people that make care bears make them because they care about the money, but i made this because i care about you" GO mum! it was such a lovely present. i still got it now. smile

Gee! That's really really sweet. Please hug your mum for me! hug

Sometime long ago a friend mentioned to me she's never had a carebear before. I somehow managed to find an original 1983 Friendbear in superb condition on eBay for USD13 biggrin The bear was older than she was lol!

re: meaningful things, I just got a card in the mail with a picture in it. Friend of mine who's just gone back to Sweden wrote:

"It was a beautiful day...clear blue skyes, warm weather, great company...

A terrible day for racing..."

Inside she sent a picture she took of me when we went sailing last year. The conditions were so calm it wasn't even like a race lol. I had almost forgotten the day so I was very very very touched.. Might even post the pic sometime. ubbrollsmile

Off to uni now wave

As soon as I'd love to head down to SA, don't think it'll be for a while. I've seen some pictures from over there, and they look beautiful.

Fortunately I am planning to visit another SA recently (South Australia ubblol much nearer too). Ever considered visiting? smile

How could anyone bear to part with a Carebear for USD13 frown... Although. When I outgrew Wishbear I put him in a box of other toys to be donated to less fortunate kids in Mongolia.. Perhaps they're the people selling Carebears on eBay.. confused

Lol! Carebear drowned then disemboweled.. Sure you're not a wicked pixie? devil

When I was 2 or 3, I had a plush dog named Fluffy. He got rather grimy by the time I was 7, so somehow I got him into the washing machine queue. Poor thing came out with his silky fluff looking as if he'd been permed! biggrin)

i have vague memories of sorting through my toys years ago when my parents moved house...i kept a bunch of my favourite toys & i think mum gave the rest away to some charity. not sure which one though...pretty sure it was a lil more local than mongolia though! smile

Only thing is it's close to impossible to doing buzzsaws with them because they're so long.. other than that, I think it's beginning of a bee-yoo-tee-full friendship.
