So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Lou: Maybe.. if not an epiphany, then just a very good idea. Requires lots of work in the meantime, and plenty of organisation (which I may be lacking at the moment), and the charity of good friends. All in all, I should get some results by mid next year if all goes well..

Sorry to hear you're meegrainey again. My two pixies send their love, and the smaller one says she should have trained her successor a bit better. Get well soon kitten hug

Currently watching a documentary about Vietnam veterans.. had a sudden bridal train moment.. smile

Pat: That one's not too bad.. it's got a proper glass lens in it I think (as opposed to those plastic ones in cheaper cameras..). Should probably be able to take a decent shot with it- why don't you ever carry it around?

Yeah.. the modern ones are getting quite good these days.. Come October after Photokina I reckon a couple more good ones are coming out.. For my money- I think the Canon IXUS 800IS is a pretty spectacular camera.. (despite being only 6 megapixels. 6 is plenty, but the trend you'd think is to go more megapixels.. they went down from the previous camera..)

Andrea: Thanks.. glad you like it. Kinda reminds me I need to come up with more material.. It almost seems like the more camera gear I get the less shots I take shrug

Sleep's good.. rest's even better.. sleep well miss hug *turns the sheets and tucks Andrea in* ubbangel

mmmm, ye... on a good day, it has taken some pretty decent photos... and you're absolutely correct... my biggest problem with photography is the fact that I've never got my camera with me when the shot's there to be taken.

have taken quite a number of pics from my phone, when any camera would've done a better job... spank note to self, carry camera around in bag, like I do everything else

So, Ry, under duress and mockery, ( not yours, other unbeleivers) I posted some pics in my gallery as proof, I really was a nun, and yes, I can be submissive! wink Take a look and have a laugh...

So how'd I end up whips fixated and playing with fire? Huh?

Seriously, thinking of doing another major retreat next year, like for the whole year. If they let me have my cats, maybe indefinately...

Handbags, men, whips, cameras, oh it is all a little much at times... wink

Pat: Scotchtape. Just think- if you actually taped your camera to your phone, you'd probably often think, 'heck. Since I've got it taped to my phone I might as well take a picture..' But yes.. if you happen to find yourself with a camera handy.. take a picture of yourself with nothing on but a handbag.. visit and post a link in the 'geigh' (do a gallery search) thread in Ros' (fluffynapalmfairy) gallery wink

And maybe you could get some photographic proof of you at juggle! Which coincidentally, is tomorrow.. did you know? wink

Dave: If he did, I suspect it'd be made from dalmation puppies ubblol Pat- ask me why! biggrin

Beth: Yes it was strange, but I kinda expected him to look like that when I first met him.. but he was surprisingly conservative.. I was a bit disappointed.. the camera was so ready to document it! ubblol

Mandy: mmhmm.. must be Melbourne.. the cold wet weather makes people want to take off clothes and don pink wigs.

Hang on. That doesn't sound right.. umm

Andrea: A retreat for a year?! That's sounds like a heaps long time.. so you were a nun for how long? eek

Though.. you could be the insidious one planted in there to get the other nuns back into line.. ubblol

And hey- just checked out the photos.. what nuns! None of them look even remotely close to a penguin.. tongue
