She wasn't Mary Mungo, She was just Mary. Mungo was her dog and she had a mouse called Midge. It's before your time hun. It was a kids program, called (suprisingly) Mary, Mungo and Midge, from when I was a small girl.

I might just be making this up, but it seems illustration is never fully your own work, art directors and people who comission work have a vision of what they want.........the work I most enjoy are not for a purpose, I think that's what throws me.

It also seems (this may just be my course) but you have to have fashionable work 'contemporary', and it all looks the blimmin same! If I were to work like everyone elses I wouldn't be me frown

but yes jobey jo your might be right it might just be I havent met the right people to like my work shrug

Jem have you ever considered making your own book. Writing a story and illustrating it?

Don't give up on your passion just because other people have told you that you won't fit the mould that's there now. Break out of the mould and be yourself. The people that stay inside the mould are the jobbin' workers that do all the unknown art work that we see around us everyday. The ones that create their own style and step away from the norm are the ones that get known and are the ones the moulded artists eventually try to follow and copy.

Good luck hun!

P.S. Don't stress about it. You know that there are lots of people out here that love you lots and will never allow you to be homeless or hungry, so take your time and make sure you make a decision that will make you happy. Don't let panic and stress push you to make a rash choice. ubbrollsmile

Yes, well my last project I sort of co wrote a story with Tobi, but we were 'advised' not to write our own story ubblol rolleyes

I was really quite happy with that project, but I think my tutors lost faith in me because I wasted a lot of time at the beginning of the project.

We seem to get less and less encouragement and posotive comments and more and more negative ones. I'd feel absolutly embarrassed and rude if I were to dissagree with them.

I think two of my tutors are studying for MAs I wonder if that is right confused,

anyway, I am trying to put together alterative work, doing what they say a little and I'll see what they say shrug
