Tatting is similiar to crocheting...except it uses a little thing called a shuttle...and the end results are very dainty and lacy...
I have a friend that does beautiful tatting...Maybe I can get her to make a little something for a friend in the land of Oz!!!

Pip, put it that way and it does sound a little strange ... well a little stranger.
Bek, I don't use a shuttle for tatting, I was never able to hold the thread correctly. I use the even older version of tatting, with a needle. I found it much easier to learn.
Ela, all fuzzy pets will be with me at Wildfire, so you will be able to see the full menagerie.

Oh, yes...I had a couple of old maid cousins that used to do needle tatting...but the lady that I know that does it now uses a shuttle...and she makes some of the most beautiful stuff...
She does little unicorn heads...and flowers...and even makes letters to put initials on handmade blankets and such...really lovely work...!!!

That's a possibility, also...She and her husband are Kabbahlist...and they incorporate angels into their path quite a bit...plus Anitra just is such a sweet thing that it would stand to reason that she'd have angel patterns...
I use to have a tatted angel that went on top of my Yule tree...but the mice got into the box in our attic and chewed it so badly that I had to throw it away...It broke my heart, cuz the old lady that made it for me had died the previous year...but I do still have some snowflakes that she made...

I have plenty of patterns for snow flakes and I've seen some angels but they have all been about three inches tall. I want something about six to eight inches. Do her in white or acru and then have a navy blue background.

oooo.. how lovely.. I love making crafty things, lacy things. Clothing with this kind of stuff is so beautiful and artistic! I have this one skirt at home.. it was made by a costume designer for the girl I brought it off at the markets.. it's amazing. It has all these lovely folds and different fabrics and lace, even doiles and gloves and ribbons sewn into it.

Oooh...that does sound cool...I've seen things like that...is kinda like a patchwork quilt...just not as heavy!!!
I used to have a jacket like that, even...had all kinds of different fabrics and designs in it...and it got ruined in my old house cuz of a leak that we didn't know about...lost alot of my favourite pieces like that...

Cross your fingers, say your prayers, what ever it is that you do because here we go again!
I was talking with Moondoggie tonight and the conversation got around to him coming home. With vacation time that will be owed and travel time that they give him, he figures that he will be home in late August,early September. This time it's a little different though.
I asked him if he would know what they wanted him to do as early as August and he said that he WAS coming home. I don't think that I've ever heard him sound so positive about when he was going to leave this post. Before it has always been ... we'll see ... not sure what is going to happen. In fact this is the first time I've ever heard him use that "tone" of voice. You know THAT tone "it's going to be this way and I don't care what I have to do to get it".
So he says he will be home in five months. I don't know, I'm sort of doubtful with having two let downs over the last two years ... but maybe third time is the charm.
I wonder if he's ready for ballroom dancing. Growing old is mandatory; growing up is NOT.

heeheeeee!!! Sounds like someone else I know...
No fudge yet, Gidgie...It should have come by now...
I'm thinking of contacting the main post office in the county to see if it's come thru there...cuz we have had problems with some of our postal carriers in this area deciding that certain packages should go home with them...
I have a friend that had a package sent to her and her husband by their daughter...She was in the Army and stationed in South Korea...sent a bunch of really nice things that she had gotten on her travels and the package made it to the post office...but never made it to her house...and the carrier that was in charge quit a couple days later...
I'll snatch a knot in somebody if they got my fudge...
