There's more to it than shaking the hips! I mean if we are talking Polynesian styles of dance, I've got 'em down. But those are all about isolation with the only movement in the arms and hips. The shoulders and stomache stays perfectly still.

From one end of the spectrum to the other!Ballroom is doing good. In fact I have a dance tomorrow that I'll be going to, though I don't know what the class is going to be yet.
Ballroom ... everyone should have the experience.

We have a ballroom dance class at my uni and I REEEEEAAAAAAALLLLYYYY want to take it! But so does everyone else, so it's hard to get into during the fall and spring semesters.
Especially if you're a girl...they always have too many girls and never enough guys. Funny how my other activities over the years have had the same lack of male participation. Dance, gymnastics, skating, choir...Oops. I forgot. Guys have that "ego" thing. Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

I know but they need to think of ballroom this way. It's the only place they can hold a woman in their arms and know that they aren't going to get slapped.
Let me tell you, it's that guys that know how to dance that are popular with the girls. I dance with this friend that is attending Uni, and he said that since he started dancing he has absolutely no problem attracting girls.

Ha ha.. i'm kinda excited about the weekend, but because I have to come in and do some overtime there is not a whole lot to get excited about. Oh well.. it's actually quite all right by me because I'm trying to *save* cash rather than spend.

Pip, can't say too much against the extra money, we all seem to be able to use some of that now a days.
A visit would always be possible but we are talking about a couple of years. There is much to do before I can take another trip like that one.

Actually I think I was going to go nuts for a while there. It's so easy to get lost. 30 rows in a pattern, each row is different and there are 11 pattern repeats. that does not include the border.
I won't be doing this one again for a very LONG time ... if ever.

Wow, Gidg...That's absolutely gorgeous!!!
I really wish that I hadn't been so young when my grandmother died...she was gonna teach me to crochet and tat...always said that when I was a bit older she'd start to teach me...but she died of Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was only about 6.
Okay...I wasn't trying to get on a depressing subject...but she did lovely afghans and doilies...so it just kinda made me think of her.
Pat would love the colour...It would match his fisherman's shorts!!!

Thanks Pip and Bek. I was lucky enough to have my mom teach me how to knit and crochet. If you're determine enough you can learn anything. By myself I've figured out how to tat, bobbin lace, cross stitch and work with japanese beeds.
I do have to admit that it is easier to learn how to knit and crochet with help. I'm trying to knit a pair of socks and can NOT figure out the heal. Mom has a friend that knows how and she has said that she is will to teach me.

Consider all possible bits crossed!!! ...and just stay active and you should be fine with the little bit of fudge...I'd say you deserve to treat yourself cuz if you don't then you just start to feel resentful and go overboard...which is why I tend to treat myself to little things that I love every now and then...not particularly foods...but things like my ankle jingly's for belly dancing...or my triple strand rose quartz bracelets...nothing expensive...but something that's gonna make me feel good and keep me from going overboard on something that really would be too much...
Gotta make yourself happy...and if you can't do that, then what's life for in the first place...?
