I used to use kerosene, but I ended up smelling like it all night whenever I used it. I switched to paraffin-based lamp oil, which doesn't really smell much.
When I can't find paraffin, I use citronella. It seems to burn a bit brighter and longer, but still has a bit of a smell.
What do you use?

I use florasence lamp oil from walmart for practice, and when i do a performance , I'd use ultrapure lamp oil/paraffin.
