Those would most likely be somewhat compacted pine charcoal, that is in a fine cage, and has fuel on it. It is most definitely not wire wool poi.

an easier way to get the sparkling affect is buying titanium flakes. its like 20 bucks for a container. u just sprinkle em on after you soak ur poi or staff or whatever your lighting. im sure you can find the flakes on homeofpoi. i dnt know if there is a specific brand for fire toys tho.
