I'm feeling a bit like that too frown I'm hoping it goes away soon because I'm boring myself with how miserable I am so I'm sure to hell boring f**k out of all my family and friends too. *sigh*

At least Jon won't have to put up with it for 2 months. He'll be in sunny Oz having, I hope, a fantabulous time. At least I won't be able to drive him crazy with my glum face whilst he's over there.

Are you still writing Mags or have you stopped doing that?

I'm still writing, but the imminence of my third year is imposing it's own blocks on my creative psyche yet again.

The idea of writing 36,000 words on anything non-fictional scares the bejeezus out of me. You want a novel, novella, short story, poem, stageplay, film or comic script, I'm yer guy, but 12000 words of articles, 12000 words of dissertation and 12000 words of academic essays are like looking up at the world's biggest cliff face, and contemplating climbing it solely equipped with an egg spoon. umm

I know I have an inherent fear of failure, that's why I've spent nearly three decades sat on my fat arse consuming as many cannabids as my greasy little hands can get hold of. I know I have a major motivation problem as a result of these two factors, and i'm petrified that I'm going to balls it all up and flunk out for no reason other than I think everything I write is crap.

This is not me looking for sympathy, not even encouragement, as it's ultimately useless if I can't encourage myself. It's just me using this page for what I originally intended - cartharsis.

Remember that even on my darkest days, I still love you all, and hope your flames are always bright.

First thing... I can't come to Falmouth, I'm sorry, I had hoped I could, but now can't cos I'm working frown

Second thing... (and more importantly)... don't do nothing at all... do wee bits of it, like some research for articles and the dissertation every day - it's the worrying about it that will screw you, not the actual work (which you are more than capable of).

I reckon once you get into it, you'll probably enjoy bits of it. Try to keep that momentum going. And force yourself, it's your degree, it's supposed to be hard work sometimes.

Anyhoo... good to see you doing a little bit of writing here smile

Take care, hope you're well otherwise
Clare x

Ah, Skully, you are the little ray of sunshine. smile Big hug for you.

We just spent the evening busking in town, wearing our groovy new Falmouth Fire t-shirts (complete with contact details for bookings) and had lots of burning-related fun with all the new little first years. Some of them were pretty cute too... wink Didn't make much moolah, but was a good giggle, and we probly recruited a few more unsuspecting phule's for the Circus Society.

We (Falmouth Fire) have managed to get bookings for most of the next few weekends, so we're obviously quite chuffed. Mainly college stuff, which means we'll hardly get paid feck all, but at least it's work. Better than nowt. Time for some nasty pollen spliffs, a cup of tea, and maybe some poker before bed...

Blah blah, I'm a moody fecker, blah blah.

Love

Ooh, changey-of-namey-ness from Lady Clare... What prompted that huh? Welcome to the single name club. We are few, but we are mighty!

Spent the day learning to juggle 4 balls at work, made the odd milkshake and listened to all of Pink Floyd's The Wall, and The Cat Empire's excellent albums Two Shoes and Cities. Got another booking from the college, this time for a fire show for their Horns and Halo's night (Haloes?)

My boss also turned up with a box of 200 juggling balls, which we now sell in the shop. (Milkshake shop - sells juggling balls... shrug lolsign clap)

Off now to watch a dress rehearsal of my friend's new play, as I won't be about on the weekend to see it when it's on. Then I have to sort out a tent for tomorrow, and watch Fearless... :ninja:

Have a lovely evening all

Boing. Went busking tonight. Lots of little freshers went and jumped off the pier and walked past us in their undies! Yay!

And of course we kept them warm with our flames. wink

Gotta love university towns... biggrin

I'm not gonna talk about Fal6, it's been done to death elsewhere. Suffice it to say that I had a good time, and a very bad time in the same weekend.

Nuff said. Miserable barsteward over and out.

I have discovered:

Busking works better when people know you're busking.

Black hats laying on the ground are invisible in the dark.

White ice cream tubs show up better, and collect far more money.

That is all.
