I first got into poi about 2-3 years ago but never really thought about it until just recently. I'm pretty amateur for the moment but I'm learning quickly and once I feel comfortable, I'm going to light up for the first time grin

My boyfriend is a fire twirler and I really want to join him. He bought me some sock poi a while ago and I've been practicing lots, so hopefully I will get to light up some time in the near future and some day I hope to get some fire fans or palms and have some fun with those. But the thing I really want to get into is fire breathing! I understand that it's mega dangerous and no one would recommend I try it but I would love to give it a go at least.

I have a few noob questions that I can't find on the search thingy although there is probably something on them but anyway.

- When using fuels for your tools, can you put essential oils with it to make them smell a little better? Or is it dangerous or bad for you?

- I recently saw a fire breathing tutorial thingy on youtube ( YouTube - Fire Breathing 101 - Safe) and they used corn starch! I thought this was a bit weird but it seemed to work quite well. Can I have some thoughts or words of wisdom on this?

- I'm a photographer and want to get good pictures of my boyfriend fire twirling. How can I get the flame trails as well as his face?
