I have never spun poi before but would love to learn.

I like playing with fire, so if I ever get good enough not to hit myself/catch myself on fire, spinning fire could be fun.

I love body art, and have over 80 hours of tattoos in seven pieces and a set of piercings. More tats, no more piercings.

I love tabletop RPG's.

I'd love to try and find someone to teach me to spin. I don't want to invest a lot of money until I know if I like it.

I have about 40 people who are dying for my husband and I to PCS (Permanent Change of Station) to WA, so you may have to fight over me! biggrin

I have looked at almost all the beginner stuff on the site, and need to either break down and buy a set of poi or hopefully find someone in my area who would let me use theirs to get a feel for it.

Thanks for the comment!

Hello and welcome to HOP biggrin hug

how long have you been a practicing Pagan? What tradition do you follow? once you get going spinning fire on a Sabbat is one of themost amaizing feelings ever. there is nothing like spinning uder a full moon at a gathering at the best of times but when it has a special meaning behind it i find its even better. as i will be doing Thursday and friday night smile

I have been a Pagan since I was a little kid and my Nona started teaching me about the fey and herbs. I followed a Path of Traditional Italian Witchcraft for most of my life but have been drifting toward Asatru over the past year. Ritual is one of the reasons I want to learn spinning as well as mediation. During the summer, I meditate in my pool, I have a great positive bouyancy, but in winter it's a lot of sitting around staring at candles. biggrin This looks to be fun and interesting.

Not too far off but I've never read about what my family follows in any books about it. Being from Siciliy, my family has close ties to the Sea. Almost all the things we practice have to do with safety/protection of the fishermen, placating Mama Mar, and a good "harvest". ubbrollsmile
