Hey, welcome to the site. There's not exactly classes but there are a few of us that meet up for spins when we can.

How long have you been spinning?

I'm presuming by the way you mean Swindon in the UK and not some far flung corner of the world!

Well I'm not around this weekend, but if you let me know when are good times next week/weekend then we should be able to organise a spin and we can teach you some stuff.

I think sock poi are the easiest to learn with as they don't tie themselves in horrible knots, but you can have a play with a few different ones that we have and see what you like.

Seconding what was said above about starting with socks (colorful knee socks are spiffy for spinning). Or you can go to a fabric store and just make a tube out of some material you like, tossing in a third of a cup of dried lentils or something in either case. Most other options will hurt a lot more when they hit you, so it's a good way to learn the basics.

As for what to learn, check out the "Learn" tab at the top of this web site, and just go through everything in the beginners' lessons. A lot of us learned primarily from the internets, so you can go quite a long way with the resources here and on YouTube.

Climber! Yay!

Also, avoid the squirrels.

Doesn't need to be at the weekend, just let me know what would suit you over the next couple of weeks and I'll try and work something out.
