I just bought a 2ish kg Duckling from the Market and realized that I have no idea how to cook it. So, does anyone out there have any good recipes or tips and tricks for cooking it up all good and tasty like?

Never had the chance to roast a duck. (damn scary when they go flying around after you lop off their head)

But I think Cooks might help you, some of the recipes aren't so detailed but you should have an idea wink

Hmm, Well, I was lazy and bought an already dead and de featherd duck to eat. I know, I could have bout a live duck and killed and prepared for that real home cookin experience. But, after a long day at work of inputtin data in to Excel Worksheets I just can't muster the energy to kill my own dinner

Yeah. Set the oven to 350F. Put the duck in an oven bag with some broth (1/4 c), a bit of garlic, a finely chopped oven, and a teaspoon or so of flour. Let it roast as long as the recommended time is for duck (look it up).

And you'll have a duck.

A 2kg duck is about 5 lbs. So 1:30-1:40 at 350F

Yes, do this and settle down with it and get it to cook dinner for you. You'll argue a bit because of your obvious differences, but her parents will accept you into the family all the same and you'll be happy, even if a little strained at times.

Wow, I'm really not any help.

Do Ducks have the same auto response as Chickens when they're killed?

I think Oven = Onion... wink

Bird tastes even better when the garlic is put under the skin. just make some slits into the skin, and fill them with garlic/herbs/whatever you like.

Failing that, the internet will give you a billion duck recipes (or at least lots) smile

Dagnamit, I knew the little whistling guy wasn't obvious enough. In fact he looks more like he's puking than whistling!
