Hi guys, just a question for any of you mobile techies out there. I've jailbroken my iphone 3g successfully using the quickpwn tool, that went very well. Cydia works fine, and i have downloaded many themes etc from there, but for some reason, installer will not work. It opens, but every time i try to download anything, it returns me to springboard. I have found a fix for this on a few other forums, but they all require me to be using ssh. I am currently not using ssh, as i do not have wireless internet, so this renders the fix useless to me. does anybody have any ideas?

Umm.. you dont need wireless internet for SSH.

i realise that now! i think i've sorted the problem, i downloaded the latest version of installer and it seems to be running ok now. I think i'm slowly mastering this jailbreaking stuff, its taken me a few days of playing, but i think i've pretty much got it!

its all sorted now mate. theres a thing called jailbreaking, where you install your own firmware to the phone and it enables you to change themes, various settings and download lots of applications for free. thats what i've done, but i was having a little trouble smoothing the whole thing out, its all sorted now though.

Just a note to all you iphone 3g owners out there! i spoke to an o2 customer services rep last night, as i wasn't happy with an aspect of my bill, he explained the problem and sorted it out for me. BUT, he also offered me a new tariff for £35 per month, where i now get 600 minutes and 500 texts, instead of the pitiful 75 minutes and 125 texts i was getting for £30. It might be worth your while calling them and asking if they can offer you a better one too.
