I'm looking to spice up my knowledge of Photoshop and other programs - as I don't want to bother real people that I know without having understood the basics of these programs, I'm referring myself to YouTube - as a free resource for those video-tutorials.

Some are really good - some are not worth the title "Tutorial"

And the last one I clicked:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sRCqnaaAuOU

Almost gave me a heart attack... I know I know - "it's not too loud, you're just too old..." but honestly the guy almost killed me... 2am at a friends place who's in bed already - no warnings...

Btw - what makes a good tutorial? Tell you what...

Check out this one: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NSDq010LtzQ

See the contrast? Sure - this one is done by a master...

Found a good tutorial? Share it wink As long as you're learning, you're alive!

Posted:Well you have one "tutorial" done by a user named "deadncryin" and another by "PhotoAnswers" wink

I don't usually make tutorials, and haven't looked at them in years but if you need PS help feel free to PM me, or we could discuss it on here. I think I posted a tutorial a couple years ago on here on how to isolate flames in a photo..

Posted:Thanks Glss, these are kind-a "borderline tutorials"... The guy really knows what he's talking about but certainly should seek counseling at some stage wink The title of his work: "you suck at photoshop" (but here you'll find deliverance) already gives sort of an idea about his attitude, doesn't it?

I like it more this style...

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BL5Zs-DacLg

nice tutorial of how to change eye color...

And this is what I mean about "good tutorials" - I don't just want to look at the screen of a geek, who already knows what he's doing, puts on some heavy metal, sets the volume of his stereo to "max." and then goes off as if on speed... I'd actually like to know what he's doing - step by step...

I don't mind him not talking but typing it on the screen after he did what he did - but step by step... Same applies to people making tutorials for spinning poi.

I feel that there are people out there who can obviously break down every little thing of what they are doing - and communicate this to you = skillful means. This is what makes a good tutor - not someone who just takes off and leaves you behind (in awe, at least at first)... I feel that those just want to be admired, nothing more, nothing less.

Lurch - thanks dearly for your offer but exchanging emails/ reading a manual is not quite the same as watching a video (on your screen, at the same time having PS open and simultaneously work on the image/ project) - it's a bit like reading a manual about poi and then going outside to actually try it - it's not the same as having a (virtual) teacher standing there and guiding you through the process.

But as you're asking ... PM on the way wink
Any which way, what do you think: If one's good at something - is he supposed to just make money from it or would you want him to share it with the outside world - as to elevate mankinds consciousness?

wink

get the search results to list by size, the large ones have video walk throughs and they are done by professionals

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and talented? Who are you NOT to be?
