I learned about fire play as a sensual/sexual/psychological fetish a little over a year ago. I've had personal instruction, have read a great deal, and have enjoyed practicing on my friends. Mmmmm,,, endorphins!
How do I do what I do? Well.... A kevlar-headed baton soaked in 70% alcohol is used to apply a stripe or other pattern of alcohol on a naked body. I then light the alcohol with a second kevlar baton, also soaked in alcohol, but lit. A lovely strip of blue flame runs down the body. I quickly extinguish the flame using my bare hand. Sometimes, I light my hand and stroke it onto a body. Magician's flash cotton and hair mousse are also favored flammables that are used when I play with fire.
Because of my background in BDSM, I also do a bit of flogging with a flaming Kevlar flogger.
When I play, safety is paramount. My regular play mate used to be a fire chief and EMT, so we are well aware of the risks involved, how to minimize them, and what to do when an accident occurs. I always use a well trained spotter or two when I perform, and have proper safety equipment on hand and in place.
I am willing to teach fire play to others in the Cottage Grove, Oregon area who are willing to come to me, in exchange for some training for my companion, who wants to learn to spin poi.
