What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow? The air speed of a fairly typical unladen European swallow is estimated to be roughly 24 miles per hour. Thank god for Wikipedia! It also says here that female barn swallows will select a mate on basis of tail length. See, size DOES matter!
Toys: My mandolin and my fiddle, anything which can be juggled, and LEGOS.
Hobbies other than the obvious: Playing music, ganja, juggling, unicycling (and other stuff which makes people refer to me as a ‘carnie’), cooking, sewing, dance, and costuming.
Education: Went to UNT and got a degree in linguistics. Have been taking a gap year…and a half. Bahahaha. Uhm, I shall begin work on my Master’s in phonetics at University of Edinburgh in the next…year or so. Maybe.
Favorite Book(s): Immediate favourites are all of Hunter S. Thompson’s and all related works, the Harry Potter series, loads of musician bios..other than that it’s all bad sci-fi and fantasy. Although, I’m reading some good fantasy at the moment; GRRM’s Song of Ice and Fire series. Books should not be allowed to be THIS good.
Favorite Movie(s): Beavis & Butthead Do Amreica, Withnail & I, 24 Hour Party People, Shaun of the Dead, Fear & Loathing, Team America, Labyrinth, Blade Runner, and Forrest Gump. ALSO. This weird move called Dominator. Has anyone else seen it? Dani Filth plays the dude’s voice. It’s gash if you sober, but if you watch it after a bong or three, you’ll laugh until your sides split.
Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? The Destroyer would spank Godzilla. Unless he chomped it straight away.
Favorite TV show(s): Beavis & Butthead, Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, and pretty much all that other Adult Swim mess. Black Books, Mr. Show, ThunderCats, South Park, House, and documentaries about anything.
Plans for life in general: Well, I moved to Edinburgh about a year ago, but I’m back in Texas for a few months to sort out the last of the immigration stuff so that’s the main focus at the moment. I’ll be heading back in January, so soon it’ll be getting a job, finding a flat, and getting settled in to the married life I’m now five months into. I’m hoping that there will be plans of uni and a taller unicycle in the not-so-distant future!
Favorite Music Artists: David Bowie (all time favourite ever ever ever), Smashing Pumpkins, Grateful Dead, 60’s and 70’s rock, Balkan/gypsy folk, Scottish/Irish folk, darkwave, and 80’s goth like Bauhaus and stuff, heehee!

How’d you get into poi? I didn’t even know what it was until I was about 16 and on holiday in Amsterdam and saw some people doing it. I was like “woah, that’s so far out, I wanna do it”. My mum was having none of it, so I started practicing in secret with tennis balls on rope. When I was 18, I moved out because I “totally hated my parents” and started living with some hippies. One of them was about to leave and join a traveling show, so I went with him and a guy we met on the road taught me. Been at it ever since and love love love it.

It won't work Doc - Nutella is too thick and gluggy - it doesn't "splonk" quite as soggily as water so the whole point of the torture is lost. Unless of course the torture is a brute force version whereby you're tied down and someone jsut puts Nutella near you - that would be a torture indeed but no worse than being tied down near say wild tigers or man-eating wildebeast...
