i figure doing this little survey thing doesn't make me too much of a dork...

i picked up poi about a month ago after seeing one of my friends do it at a cookout. i thought it was the coolest thing i'd seen in a long time so i bought myself a pair and started watching the tutorial videos on this site. progress is slow, but steady.

Welcome to HoP...so your boyfriend didnt get you into poi.....you were the one asking about a present for a staff spinner right? If he does, what kinda staff does he do? doubles, contact etc.

yup! that was me. i put together a package with wick covers and burn salve and a roll of grip tape.
he's also a little new to spinning, so he just does single staff tricks.
p.s. that girl i asked you if you knew? she doesn't spin. she was in the marching band and did cheerleading when she was in highschool, so you might not've known her. that's how i meet all my friends - marching band.

I'm assuming it was called Scottsdale HighSchool, since the pictures of her in her cheerleading uniform say "SHS". I was about to say 'she's blonde and loud', but that's most cheerleaders so that wouldn't help much...
