Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? American (honestly never had any of these, though I've heard good things from all.)

Now that the formalities are out of the way, I work with a small fire troupe as the props guy/spotter/general grunt. I typically make sure torches are wrapped properly, wicks are soaked and spun off properly, and try to keep an eye out for safety issues (pre-show wind patrol with a scale between "calm" to "you're screwed out there today").

Until recently, I've been the sort of guy who knows the philosophy and mechanics of fire play, but has never been insane enough to practically apply them. Now I've got the itch and have ordered some pieces o make a dart rope in an attempt to kill myself as quickly as possible.

I'll probably post some pics when I get it finished, then maybe a vid if I ever get to a point where I can start 'em on fire.

Welcome to the wonderful world of HoP!

Growing old is mandatory; growing up is NOT.
Proud member of the HoP DPS.
Sanity is a highly overrated state of mind.
I'm normal ... it's everyone else that's crazy.

Hurg... Well, I'm still waiting for DHL to get me my kevlar and metaly bits for construction. They've already "attempted delivery" twice, and must not know how to knock on a door, because I must've been less than 20 ft. away when they said I wasn't home. Really starting to loose my patience with them.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Well, I earned my first bruises today.

I made a ropedart out of a 12' jump rope and a 4" stitch roll head. I also switched the ball chain out for oval chain (personal preference... never really trusted ball chain). By the fact it took me an hour to take off one of those metal ends from the jumprope's kevlar, I'm not worried about the other end ever coming undone.

I've got a picture of it here.
