Hi! I started spinning about five months ago and I'm already addicted to it. It's just so much fun to work out a new move or go spin in a park for a few hours. I'm excited to learn more tricks and meet new people. I'm a dancer and a vocalist so I've become very interested in how poi, dance, and song can be used together.
Right now I'm working on the Five Beat Weave (i.e. constantly whacking myself in the legs) but as usual am having problems with my left hand. My left loves me not. ):

Occupation(s): I'm studying graphic design at art college and working part time for $$$.
Favorite Food(s): Anything involving chocolate or cheese.

Toys: I spin poi, mostly LED glow poi.
Hobbies other than the obvious: Drawing, painting, writing, printmaking, sewing, belly dancing, singing opera music, cooking, making paper, walking my dog, swimming, watching movies.

Favorite Book(s): The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell, anything by Robin Hobb, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, anything by Jane Austen, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, anything by Neil Gaiman or Douglas Adams. I <3 books.

Favorite Music Artists/Genres: I like a wide range of things. Classical, opera, rock, heavy metal, jazz, blues, modern rock, indie rock, folk, world, pretty much anything really. Right now I'm very into TV on the Radio, Vienna Teng, and The Weepies.
Favorite ice cream flavor(s): I like things with chocolate fudge in them. Mmmm. And brownie pieces. Oh man, do I love brownie pieces.
Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?: Definitely Nutella. I love that stuff. Vegemite is disgusting. My NZ cousins always try to get me to eat it because they want to torture my poor American taste buds.

Vegemite is awesome but an aquired taste. Its the first solid we give babies. On toast crusts.
What sort of prints do you make and are you making your own poi as well. You could print flags!! Whoot!

I make lino-cuts and blockprints. I just finished a multiple color one for my sister's wedding present that was of her house that took ages. I do a little screenprinting, but I prefer working on paper and screenprinting is better for cloth.
I made my own sock poi using some of my collection of funky knee high socks but I bought my LED poi.
I could make my own flags! I hadn't thought about that! And that's what I want to try next now that I'm good on the poi basics.
