erm... hello wave

ok I have a 'friend' ahem.. who is having a bit of an issue at work... there is a person there that started to work there at the beginning of the year - they get on really well, and have been trying for weeks not to do anything about it.. but the pair of them just lost control last week after a chance meeting in the stock room.. nothing serious has happened - but that barrier has been broken.. now both them want more..

BUT as one of them is a senior manager and the other still new to the company it really isn't a good idea.. but it's making it worse becuase it's naughty and all the more exciting becuase no one can find out about it... neither of them condisder the other as long term relationship material.. but there is a connnection there..

I know that work things are never a good idea...
any advise for my 'friend'?? hug (apart from a cold shower - coz they already tried that!!)

I honour you as an aspect of myself..

ok - the anti stuff,

you know its not right, you should really but a cork on it, and stop it early, there is implications for the structure of the company, and while its not serious to you, it may be to other senior members of staff.

It may be seen that he is giving your favour over others, and this would harbour feelings of hostility in others, and could harm your standing in teh company, so that you are not fully accepted, or gain a "persona" in the company, if people found out that you had slept with one of the bosses, it may be assumed that you are sleeping your way up the ladder (i know thats harsh to say, but i dont think its true)

It also looks bad on a cv or reference for being fired for sexual conduct.

i think it would be sensible for you to know that its a one off, and that you should not take it any further, men have an inability to keep their mouth shut about such things, and it will come out eventually, even if its not by the two of you, but rumors can be created as a joke and then create real ones.

I would be hugely carefully fo sleeping with a higher member of staff. i have never know it end well.

on the other side -

well done to yoru friend wink

as long as you are clear about what the pair of you want, and that you know what it is, check the work regs about relationships in the office, and make sure you are not breaking company rules, then you can say you have checked, and are ok to carry on.

i aint trying to brow bash you or anything, its a situation i have yet to be in, and hopefully i wont for some time, but its something i have been through with other guys from uni, one of which was fired from her gap year for this reason.

just be careful, and i dont mean just wearing wellies wink

Right, well without reading everyone else's posts:

I'm fine with work relationships. As my parents say, you "work" when you're married because you communicate and negotiate etc.

HOWEVER!

If someone is in a position of authority then i'm against it. No, this is not "taking advantage blah blah" this is that the lower person gets special privelages.

I've worked with the girlfriend of a manager before. Lovely girl. But damn she pissed me off with how lazy she would be. Million and one things needed to be done? Other staff resembling headless chickens? Where's she? Having a smoke.

Trust me, it kills morale. Especially if the lower person is new.

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Rougie: but that's what I'm doing here
Arnwyn: what letting me adjust myself in your room?..don't you dare quote that on HoP...

I can only suggest:
Don't do it on the photocopier - you might break the glass.
Other than that, I'd suggest don't take advice form me, I don't know anything.

So basically you are looking for approval?

I'd reckon you, errm your friend made the decision already... now she wink is trying to justify and incorporate it into her world of morals...

No bashing, nothing, but is that suffering (created by hurting that other person) really necessary? Is that mobbing - that will follow as certain as there will be a tomorrow - really your fancy?

If your friend and her boss (find me kind of confused who is playing which part - sexes set aside) decide it's a good way to release stress and enjoy the kicks of a pathetic "forbidden... (*scrolls up*) lust" (at least the correct term used) - just be it then.

But trying to outsmart your, errm her own mind ain't gonna work. In the end one will feel guilty, one will feel hurt and another might even have regrets...

shrug

just go for it! wink rolleyes tongue sounds like perfect fun to me ubblol honest! hug

Probably the relationship is not a problem...
Probably its location (ie storeroom) is (or would be to any senior management - unless your friend owns the company)
But i understand that adds to the enjoyment in this case.
Think you might need to meet outside of work and discuss boundaries... even if it does take away some of the spontaneity

Good luck, enjoy, be careful rolleyes

wink

its all good if you like him, and there is no complications over work, ie sexual conduct codes, and you are not going to be able to directly give him favours, then you have nothing to worry about, as long as you are not seen to be abusing yoru position, it should be ok.

now the more interesting thought is why is my senior management how a hottie like yourself wink

(and i really hope none of my 6 bosses ever read this, as one of them is a woman :S)
