so, well, popular opinion suggests that maybe, after some years of lurking around hop, and trying not to be labelled a postwhore ubblol, I guess I could do an intro...

turn your eyes away now brainstorma - keep the mystery alive hug

umm, so , what sort of things do I say...I'm crap at intros...

ummm...main fire toys nowadays are fire sculptures for pagan events, fire fingers and making teensy weensy fire sculpture prototypes...and painting sideshow style banners...

I started with poi, play with single and double staff...I probably love my fire fingers the best...such fun...

ummm...I love vegemite - thick on toast or freshly baked bread...

ummmm....

thanks Charles - I wish I could take the credit. I found that image on the web for your birthday redface

mind you, after searching a lot of images of baloon creatures, I reckon my time has come to now to learn how to make baloon creatures...some of them were amazing!!!

hello ubersmack!

Fire sculptures are a fire art in themselves - but essentially it's a shape - 3d or 2d - attached to a framework.

The sculpture is covered in kevlar/other wicking material and the fuel is put on the wicking.

When lit, you have a large shape on fire rolleyes ubblol

In my community I make the fire sculptures for our small and large gatherings. I've done small stars, sun wheels, god or goddess smbols, flaming torches etc...Often the sculptures are used in ritual - eg Yule - light the sun wheel, or in large rituals it is used as a focus while something is passed around the circle...

I've made small sclptures on the ends of rods that are then used to light something larger - like a bonfire, or another sculpture...

that's probably a s clear as mud umm shrug

there are a few old threads, I think, in the archives...

I love a good old pagan gatheirng, with fire and drums...a week of it sounds divine!!

cool smile I really like the way that sounds. We have like 20 different rituals including a huge one with like 500 people. Last year for a ritual we had 4 little circles in the big one for the elements with people spinning in each one, was pretty neat. But i would like to bring this idea up to them and see what they think. Do you have any pics or anything? Sorry that took me so long to respond ive been absent minded biggrin
