ok, so there's been a million other music threads, but... this is a rock one. Before you say anything, the rock/indie thread turned into indie.
So, because i'm to lazy to look, can some people tell me of some good rock bands. Something similar to tool or just music which has a good, fast drumbeat and takes lots of skill, which isn't too poppy. It'd be great if they still exist as well ubbidea

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I love them! I think a lot of people kind of miss the point of Power Metal. Bands like DragonForce are a huge amount of fun and silliness, and clearly don't take themsleves seriously, ditto for HammerFall, that's why they rule!

FireByNite: oops, yeah I see what you mean now. I actually love those lyrics, I mean thay are quite bad, but that's what I love about them. Shoulda made it clearer I guess... redface Apart from the Maiden lyric, which truly is terrible. ubblol

With Power Metal the cheesier the better! It's half the fun!

But this Rock thread has now been hijacked by Power Metal! ubblol

Back to Poiq's original post, if you like Tool, check out the new Katatonia album The Great Cold Distance, it's fairly similar to Tool but more song-based. well recommended. In fact, their last 3 records have been great.
