Posted: Hey snowmonkey, welcome to HOP!
My state of mind is not yours to define!
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Posted: Well I picked up poi down in Byron Bay Australia whilst travelling late last year - basically saw a guy doing it in a club and thought it was so cool I just had to learn how to do it and so took it up and have been learning since and spinning as much as possible. Really enjoy it too and think that my co-ordination is getting much better as a result. I'm keen to graduate to fire and was thinking about having a bash this bonfire night (seems appropriate), but not sure I'm ready and think it would be best to have a pro around to show me the ropes so I don't burn any villages down. Other than that I love snowsports - hence the handle - and am hoping to ditch my current office life for more fun in the snow soon but my greed for the dollars and an old snowboarding injury from last year in New Zealand are currently getting in the way of living the dream! Hence I may have to settle for a long holiday rather than just chasing snow around the world! For now...

Posted: Always good to meet a Byron Bay survivor - one of my best mates is there now as it happens! Sweet place - except I was there last summer and oh my God was it hot - fried me mate! My occasional efforts to surf were followed by such bad sunburn that I was left chasing from shadow to shadow - felt like Gollum! Poi was a wicked find though as I could spend the sunburnt days hiding in the Backpackers practising (hurt more when I hit myself though!) !
