T'is...considering we don't sit atop a fault line as far as we know.

Pulled this off the Seismology research centre website:

"006 October 22, Caulfield, Vic, ML 2.9
1236 UTC, 145.03°E, 37.87°S, normal depth [MEL]
(Sunday October 22, 10:36 pm AEST)
A small earthquake occurred beneath the suburb of Caulfield, about 8 km southeast of the city of Melbourne. It was felt in the southeast suburbs of Melbourne, including Clayton, St Kilda, Elsternwick and South Yarra, with some reports from beyond Dandenong. It was too small to cause any damage."

Small earthquakes are fun.

Big earthquakes are not.

And week long aftershocks from big earthquakes are really friggin' annoying.

I always thought a earthquakes felt EXACTLY like an out of control subway was going by. A small earthquake felt like you were on the platform as the subway passed. A large earthquake feels like you're the one on the train.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.
[They do not move.]

I heard it... I thought it was an aeroplane going over...

It wasn't until someone told me that there was an earthquake that I clicked..

I remember a couple of similar ones in Geelong growing up.. I like little quakes..

25.. They were only little ones.. more tremors than earthquakes, think I remember one from when I was about 8.

So how big was it again? On Richter-Scale... Met M'bournians yesterday in Bangkok - they had no clue and said something like, yea most likely it wasn't more than a chuckle...
