I guess I'm going to have to learn to like it whether I really want to or not.

I want to get through my courses to do Criminal Profiling and Finite Mathematics is one of the courses coming up soon.
If I want one then I have to put up with the other!

Dammit!

I hate to admit it... but... I did the pure maths for fun... number theory and combinatorics mostly... had no real goal when I started it, just liked it... ended up turning it into the beginnings of research into cryptography, but I gave that all away when I got a real job and a family rolleyes

now, I'd be lucky to tackle high-school maths... my brain's only got so much capacity, so to take in new stuff, I gotta push some of the old stuff out... tongue

Not true, love.

I thought that I was really going to have a hard time with learning all the new stuff that I'm being faced with but, it's really amazing at how the mind can kick into gear when the subject matter grabs you.

You enjoyed the math...I enjoy psychology.

If you try to learn one new thing every day then your mind doesn't start to stagnate. I went through that when I used to do hair for a living. It got to be something that I hated because it was a mindless job. I have to feed my mind or I go crazy!!! Tested IQ of 165!

Decided it was time to put that mind back to work so...

Criminal Profiling!!!

way cool, bek... I must admit, I really enjoyed psych too... I had an odd undergrad degree... didn't really know what I wanted to do, but computer science was *supposed* to be my major...

so I ended with double major in compsci/puremath and single subjects of japanese, psych, law, accounting (actually I only went to one lecture of the accounting subject, walked out 15 mins in and never came back), philosophy, anatomy, physics, electrical engineering along the way... it was more like an arts degree than science...

165! you a genius! I had my IQ tested at uni for course credits towards the psych subject, but I never asked for the result... I just wanted easy credits rolleyes

Intellect doesn't always account for lack of common sense. I gave up my education at an earlier age for a family, too and wish I'd gone about it in a different way. I wouldn't give up being a mother for anything but, I became a nurterer to the extent where I neglected the things that I needed myself. One of those was my health which is why I came very close to leaving two kids with no mother. Cancer at 32! Not fun to be faced with your own mortality. It's what led me to the path that I'm on now...

Single, pagan, mother of two, back in school at age 40, trying to make something more of my life.

Damn...didn't mean to get on that rant.

Looong day/week!

Learn to shut up? Highly doubtful. I've been trying to do it for years and it just can't be accomplished as long as you have some sort of brain in your head.

Actually have a couple of things that I have to deal with and keep putting it off.

There is a possibility that when I do, I could end up bringing heartache on myself, but putting things off is not helping either.

I need a joint!!!

Feel better, anyway.

Listened to a couple of Dave Matthews tunes and be-bopped around the room!

Dancing always makes me feel better.

And on that note, I shall say goodnight.

Got a COTE board meeting and Mabon celebration tomorrow so I'd better get some sleep.

Love to all!!! ubblove hug

Cool idea Pat! I make my way down the coast and hang out at Adeliad (sp?) for a while that over to Melbourne and then slowly make my way up to Sydney and then all the way up to Brisbane.

With all that swimming and walking, not only will I be in peak physical condition by the time I get to Queensland, I'll also be about three years older! ... I walk slow. wink
