theres 2 ways - the easiest is to use flash (if you have access to it).

you can also use an onmouseover scripty thing.

are you using dreamweaver or writing from scratch?

actually thinking about it - you'll have to use flash.

I'm sure you can only layer 2 images before it gets obscenely complicated.

you can do more than two with combination of javascript and CSS methinks... i found a nice example someplace on the web, i just can't remember where, or what i typed in to find it... can't you ask your girlfriend pitman?

In the meantime if i remember where it was i shall report back, i probably bookmarked it but it might be on the computer at work....

You'll be able to do it with onmouseover changing the z-index of the image - I'll cook up some code if you like...

Ok, here is a very basic start at what you are trying to do. It would be much better to use a javascript function that looks for all images, sets the z-index and does the mouse over/out stuff, but hey, it's a start!

hehe, well this is really basic javascript, and I don't really like using things like onmouseover in the tags - javascript shouldn't be in the HTML at all, it should be added after and change the page based on id's, class names and tag names.

Take a look at https://dean.edwards.name/weblog/2006/06/levels/
for an idea...
