I guess that sums it up! -Hello All! Is there anyone in NYC willing to take a newbie through her poi-ces? I've tried to follow the videos online but it's a bit hard.
Thanks much!

Hellooo!! -and thanks much for the welcomes!
the uws, haven't seen much in central park, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Heard about tompkins square park, will check it out..........thanks!
Me? Been here 12 years, including a long 4 years in Boston where I learned to be a physical therapist. I think it's time for me to move, though I haven't done too much more than decide that. I do yoga when I can, recently started capoeira, taiko, love to cook (and eat!), was a dancer, am not any more though I wonder, does anyone ever not become a dancer? - I channel all that into movement/movement-related stuff of some sort, so maybe I am still a dancer but don't know it yet! Oh yes, voice lessons -it's an on and off thing. (this year's all been about starting stuff....)
What else? I'm reading "cry the beloved country" by Alan Paton, listen to pretty much any music, mostly pre-'90s, though smile -soft spot for old rock, bluegrass, whimsical lyrics, crazy jazz.
Apologies for the lack of info............I started 2 different threads, one has info, the other - well now the other does too, I guess!
Started on poi late in life, not even a year, dabble with it. Can do the basic three moves, methinks, and being a movement geek, I see how my left arm and right arm move differently, and keep trying to correct that! Happy to learn about tompkins square park, but it would have to clash with a prior weekly commitment! Oh well!
peace thankx
