Aurinko, given that you said that about the outward appearance right below requesting Drogosani's seminaked pictures, it's slightly unbelievable ubblol though of course I agree wink (and with the piccie request, too!)

@B: agree. Why didn't you put up a picture of him instead of the link? It would definitely have some decorative value

@D again: you look heel lief, maar gewoonlijk willen mannen dat niet horen hè?

geschrieben finde ich das auch ziemlich einfach. Gesprochen ist das von den Niederlaendern noch o.k., von den Belgiern wird das manchmal lustig.

Wird es gleich geschrieben?

Dragosani, tu n'es pas de melon! Mais les melons, ils sont tres utiles! Il y en avait un program de television avec "Polizeiobst Melanie", un melon qui assiste la police a confondre les criminels!

Haven't spoken French in 10 years or so, so this is probably very wrong and I'll stick to English and German again!

O.k., I didn't compare you with a watermelon (as Birgit already stated), my colleague and me just discovered that there are vampire watermelons and as this was almost the topic, I thought I could contribute to the discussion. Not good?

So. und ja, ich glaube dass die beiden Varianten gleich geschrieben werden. Wahrscheinlich gibt es nur ein paar Ausdrücke, die regionsspezifisch sind. *fragt gerade mal einen Kollegen* o.k., nach Konsultation mit dem Kollegen rechts von mir sage ich jetzt, dass sie da durchaus auch andere Worte gebrauchen.

there is a general misconception that Flemish is a language.
Flemish is in fact the name given to the collection of all the dialects spoken in Flanders.
We speak Dutch just like the Dutch, it just sounds less German.
Just like you have Hochdeutsch, which is spoken in all the Bundesländer. And next to that you have the dialect that are called Nehrdeutsch? Or something like that ubblol

NO idea what the dialects are called! There's Schwäbisch, which is good and right and what people should speak (though again it varies every few miles and people from my town will laugh at people from half an hours drive away), and then there's the rest! Didn't know there was a word for all of them biggrin

Hochdeutsch is the dialect spoken in and around Hannover (it was just a decision to take this dialect as the standard and call it Hochdeutsch). But the other dialects ... well, you could name them according to the Bundesland they are spoken in, but then again you have quite some variation within the Bundesländer
