My girlfriend crocheted me one of those out of kevlar yarn and filled it with glass beads. Worked well as a hack but went out too quickly when we fired it up, could only get a dozen or so kicks in. Plan on filling the mark 2 model with a combination of glass beads and kevlar scraps to try and improve the burn time.

I have been itching to get my hands on one of these for ages. A mate told me that they can be filled with volcanic rocks similar to the stuff they sometimes use for landscaping. Maybe suss out a local garden and grab a handfull see how it goes. I guess the stuff is more absorbant and not flamable so does the trick!

You would be doing everyone a favour because it looks shite on gardens. If you go into full production the world could forever be rid of this scourge! wink

Its like saying flying disk instead of frisbee, or tissue instead of Kleenex. Hacky sack is a brand name, but has monopolized the name of the object. biggrin

exactly, you dont go around calling every fast food place Mc Donalds do you?

"hacky Sack" do not make fire footbags, so there is no such thing as a "fire hacky sack" wink

footbag.org

in fact hackie sack dont even really make decend bags. the best bags i know for kicking are elemental bags (which are made in india and a reasonable price for a goob bag) and my friends bags, which he hand stiches himself and cost $30.

most bags sold in shops are utter rubbish and arent even worht the $2 they cost.

Yeah. I cant stand knitted bags. I'm using dirtbag, and hero. Both are very similar and good quality.

i've got an 32 panel elemental footbag, which is suede with plastic filling, its alright to kick around with friends but its a bit too light to do stalls and such.

the bags my friend makes are really good hand handstiched 32 panel suede with shotgun pellet fillings, the lead pellets mean the bag is really heavy and sits really well on your feet so its perfect for stalling and doing all crazy stuff with.
