10th June. A date you need to remember because that'll be the night you come to London Rising Tide's Art Not Oil launch party, an oil-free cabaret.
We'll also be trying to raise a bit of cash for our Camp For Climate Action (happening 26th August-4th September). So I insist you come down and check it out. We're gonna have a great night!
So come and get down with your bad self at the 491 Gallery, 491 Grove Green Road, E11 4AA, right next to leytonstone tube station (central line). You're gonna want to be there by 8pm because we'll be starting! And finishing in time for you to get the last tube home.
We've got an excellent line up for the night:
-LUDO -LYNX, touring from San Francisco, on the mic with his partner on the decks -ROB THE RUB -SARAH BEAR -CORNEILIUS -MARK BROWN (a Rising Tide member who'll I'm sure will wow us all with his guitar and harmonica stylings) -SOCIETY OF IMAGINARY FRIENDS
The donation is cheap as chips
You can check out some of the art and watch a couple of films if you're interested in finding out more about some of the unbelievably hypocritical and just plain wrong things oil companies have gotten and continue to get away with. (Shell sponsoring the National Wildlife Photographer of the Year award for example.... words cannot describe the rage that bubbles under the surface my friend and I bet you've just gone.... "Er... they're doing WHAT?") (OR NOT)
The Art exhibit will then be at the gallery until the 24th June, open for viewing from 12-7pm beforing moving to The Foundry from 29-1 July and then it's on to the Big Green Gathering, Norwich, Aberdeen and beyond!...
So come down and make it a night that kicks arse as only you can!
Come faeries, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame.
