My sister called me and told me she met some firespinners at a party she was at. I suddenly remembered that I had moved from a redneck little town to Bloomington, IN, the liberal Mecca of Indiana. Of course there were spinners here! (tossing my hands up)!! I'd grown so used to being the only one in my town that I'd actually let it take a backseat (sigh of shame). I hadn't spun fire in almost a year and a half! Anyway, I'm very excited to be back. I hadn't looked at the website in probably five or six years. From the videos I'm seeing, it looks like the lengths of poi have gotten shorter, the moves faster, tighter, and overall more dynamic, and all in all I've got to say I'm pretty intimidated!! But it just means I've get to learn that much more (chuckling) and I'm excited to do it.

SO, me, um, my father is Egyptian, but I didn't get a year round tan (damn it!) I call myself a whole-wheat cracka. I've been spinning off and on for 5-6 years now. I'm a student at IU, I have no idea what I'm doing but it looks like it'll be ten years before I'm done doing it if I keep takin time off whenever I want.

Fire's my heart. Fire's my soul. Fire's my friend and my teacher. It heats the stones for my sweatlodge, it lights my camp when the dark tickles at the back of my neck; it keeps me company, it keeps me warm. I wish I could cup it in my hands, I wish I could drink it down. Its beautiful and its awesome, I have the depest respect for it, and I hold it in the highest regard.

Ok, I'm not sure if that is what they ment by introductions forum but there you go, can't hurt one way or another.

I can imagine that the Necronomicin could be referred to as the book of the dead, but what I am refering to is a text whose actually name is The Book of the Dead (and you can buy it at Barns&Nobles, whom I dare say would sell human flesh in any form)(chuckle), which is a set of scriptures written by ancient egyptian scribes on papyrus and tomb walls. I'm not sure what makes them a bood instead of a compilation of writings, but there are many translated versions and they have the same chapters so imagine there is a reason for it being a "book". If anyone's interested, the Normandi Ellis version frees the text up into the most amazingly vivid poetry I've ever read, simply awsome:

Westy, nothing would hit the spot more, Do you have any black coffee to go with the cheezcake?

BooBoo, that makes you a Cancer directly on the cusp, right? Did you know that us cancer/leo cuspers are supposed to be the most conflicted of all? (laughing) I'm really back and forth on whether thats really true or not (making ironic joke that would work better with some facial expressions showing deep conflict)(deep sigh and lots of brow rubbing).
