I have only just started and cant afford to buy a lessons video yet so am just messing about myself... im not doing too badly i can do butterfly, chassing the sun and a 3 point wrap (sorry if they are wrong names!!) and a couple of other bits and bobs but for the life of me i cant get them too swing behind my back!!! Trust me ive tried but once it almost ended in a black eye i decided it was porbably time too ask for help............ i dont know if you can but if you dont mind sharing how you do it, im more of a visual person so a short vid if possible with an explination of where im going wrong and what too do, would be fantastic...... if not just a simple explination would be ace...... i want too be able too do a butterfly behind my back so i can finally sleep at night!!! Sad but true
Im 25 and come from Oxford (England), and i really enjoy playing Poi. I started getting interested in Poi when i was out in SEA (I was in Malaysia) So i want 2 meet like minded people and get too learn as much as i can.

Have you tried looking at the Free lessons videos on here?
They may give you some handy hints.

Find some other spinners..if watching doesnt help you can even get them to actually hold your hands and guide the poi. Thats funny because you both normally get hit with the poi.

Sorry long time not been here well, ive been off travelling and now back in the sunny uk i feel like i dont have alot of direction and cant wait to get out. I am going to try and teach in Malaysia for a year ( I met my fella out there while i was travelling) then come back get my PGCE in English and Drama and then bugger off round the world teaching as i go. I know what you mean about watching it i just cant get it i lean visually (DSYLEXIC YA) but i just dont know when and how i am supposed to get my hand from front too back i gave myself a wonderfull black eye the other week YAY that was funny walking into work!! ANyway rambeling on now but if any1 has any handy hints that would be fab... cheers guys.. talk to yall soon....
