Anyone know where I can get hold of some 'Happy Winter Solstice' cards, or similar, to send to all my Christian buddies?

Have found many e-cards, I want real paper, that they can stick on their mantelpiece.

Every year I get maybe half a dozen cards full of biblical quotes, and it really yanks my crank. When will people realise that Christmas is no longer about remembering the birth of christ, it's about family, giving, and stuffing your face.

Not to mention blackmailing children into being good:
quote:
Santa Claus is Coming to Town

He sees you when you're sleeping,
He knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake!

Plus, the image most used to represent Christmas, Santa in his red and white suit, was created as a marketing tool for Coca Cola.
To me, that shows just how much Christmas now means spending money.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

surely the cards you send would mean more if you make them yurself.

that said, can you not design one on your computer and print it off?

i've never liked christmas (or birthday) cards for the simplke reasons that they're hideously overpriced for a bit of mass produced paper and very little effort or thought needs to go into buying one.

home-made ones though - they're the ones from the people that really love you.

wherever you go, there you are.

I would suggest making your own too - it can be just a very simple design. I usually just cut or tear something out of coloured paper and mount it on heavy gauge cartridge paper out of an A5 size pad I buy in Art Shops (Daler-Rowney do a good one with 25 sheets per pad). If you fold the A5 sheet in half, it fits into a standard envelope.

You can just add your own appropriate message.

Have fun!
