Hello
Thought id better finally drop in and say hello being a new poister myself, sorry its taken me so long
. Im back at uni and have plenty of time on my hands to start teaching myself properly (along with my trusty michal kahn book). Only been going for a couple of months but its taking me a while.
Anyway, usual stuff, im sam, sammy or samantha if you have too!! I study music in bath (2nd year) and loving it! started poi as a different hobby from music as its all i do and by the fact that i got a pair for my b'day.
I learnt figure 8, 2 beat weave and butterfly pretty quick, then got a summer job and didnt have much time. Now at uni and catchin up on all the spinning i missed.
Thats all the basics

Yep.. better late than never- and it's never too late Now that you're on you'll possibly start picking up things even faster.. Especially if you've got broadband. There are a more than a couple of good videos in the video section of the forum (as opposed to the video section)- and you'll find it much easier to learn from moving visuals.

I haven't been back there in 10 years. I wonder how much it's changed. I'll have to go and visit the place sometime. Do you think they would let you spin fire on the Common? They probably wouldn't notice if you span for a bit inside the Castle ruin.
I'll have to arrange to come over next summer to see some old friend in Cambridge and pop down to Walden for a spin.... if you're up for it

i say cambridge, but i actually live in a ickle village called ashdon, near a town called sffron walden but nobody really know where they are, so cambridge it is since its only 25 mins away!
