Hey guys,
I've just tried to reply to a thread, and have received an error message saying "the post already exists".... and it won't let me reply. I tried it in the quick reply box, and the main reply thingy and the same message appeared.
Has anyone else had this?

That has happened to me in the past too. I just cleared my cookies and it worked again.

Go to "my home" and find the [Old link] and click on "expire cookies".
That should do it.
Or it may just be you're clicking on the continue button more than once... but I think that just results in a double post... so maybe not

Could an admin not write a script that brings up that "post already exists" screen whenever anyone tries to start a thread with any of the following keywords:

i tend to get that problem when a post already exists in that thread that is identical to the one you are posting.

Sometimes I get 'post already exists' if you are just posting a graemlin... so you put a space before it and it works.
Goddammit. I'm on here far too much.

i meant, if you've already used that single gremlin in a thread, then try it again, it won't let you.
don't complain about others misunderstanding something until you understand what it is they're misunderstanding.
