Ooh. A good long while methinks.

Pele still does it after about 8 years or so. And she doesn't let being ancietly old put her off continuing.

So why should I stop when i get older?

at the moment (and probably for about the last 2 months or so) i practice poi most every day of the week. even if its just for half hour or so after work just to chill out.

i doubt i will be able to keep it a priority (ie find time to practice every day and take time out to go to spinning events every week) for the rest of my life but i would hope never to stop.

i could easily see it becoming more like my juggling - i practice maybe twice a week to make sure the tricks i can do don't disappear on me and only really learn and improve when i am around other jugglers.

so no, i don't think i'll ever stop spinning unless my physical condition prevents it (which, please god, will never happen to any of us prematurely).

Aahh, Mr C@ntus, this is exactly my point. Why should we give up at all?

well, we shouldn't but at some point we may get hit with greater

responcibility and commitment. can we still keep it as a high priority

if such responcibility should raise its big ugly head?

I always picture myself wandering through some touristy city in europe with my grandkids, and spotting some young whippersnapping fire performers.

When they are done, I dodder up to them and ask them if I might have a spin...

Have you seen the bit in Attack of the Clones where Yoda throws down his walking stick and demos his badass light sabre skills? Like that.
