3 beat weave, fountains, corkscrew, butterfly, the simple ones always rock... If it's dark, btb stuff doesn't really look any different from stuff in front, so I'd stick with the IF stuff...

Spin, bounce, be one with the world, because it is yours to enjoy...

As long as your spinning is smooth, and you look comfortable with what you're doing, then..you're pretty much sorted

Realistically though, when you asked 'what moves would amaze people', my first thought was actually 'everything', since spinning in any pattern to non-spinners looks amazing. (I was sold to spinning when I watched a performer just do a weave to start off the combos ubblol)

I agree that the best thing to do is keep it to what you're happy with and can do smoothly. A smooth simple trick is better looking than a borked complex trick.

Just have fun! biggrin

something showy and non-techy is probably a good bet

Hmmm, definitely gotta throw in a fountain then. Simple, but looks pretty if done smoothly, especially if you're using glow sticks.

Ok...this might be hard to understand in words.

*For this trick, you do NOT move your feet*

plant your feet and twist your body (for simplicity) left.

1. do a forward (only tried 3bt) weave (or backwards but stick with forwards for now).

2. you then bring the forward weave across your body to the right, switching into a backward weave.

*you're doing well if you're still with me*

3. bring it up and over your head again so you're back into the forward weave on your left.

If you're doing this correctly, from the front, it looks like a continuous weave going round and round in a circular path.

Hope that kinda explains it but yeah, try searching other threads, there's been previous stuff but i found most of it hard to understand because some people started asking if there are windmills (when bringing it back over your head) or not.

Are you spinning just to spin? or is this going to be like a halftime thing? If so you and you have a couple friends spinning as well you might want to work on high throw/passes.. you can really whip a glowstick pretty high if you throw it in the middle of a spin, and it looks very cool.

what i always found that amazes the "crowd" is fast, hard, powerful movements. The smoother earthier spinning tneds to make a mass of ignorants yawn. I guess i had a few too many baton twirling comments thrown at me.

then again anytime you set something on fire..people are amazed and "aawwed"

But i agree with synchronization as well. people looove windmills

good luck and let us know how things go.

oh yeah!! it better be dark if your using sticks or glow poi or you wont see it well. FIRE FIRE FIRE... best way to do it. if you can get some type of mic close to where you are so that it can be heard as well that would ad to the effect..
