I know the site is Poi based but there is a staff move forum.

Is there a reason or is it just that sticks are not as popular as poi & staff?

Devilsticking doesnt seem to be as popular on this site as poi and staff but there are plenty of threads with loads of tricks. Have a look on the Other Toys forum.

well as soon as you add more forums there would be complaints there aren't others (juggling, unicycling, diablo.....)

Home of poi is essentially a staff and poi forum.

Poi falls under well..Home of Poi
Staff falls under the "and fire twirling", even from a historical perspective.

Everything else concidered a circus art or object manipulation and doesn't have as wide of a following and so gets covered under "Other Toys". That is much easier than a forum for every tool we have now figured out how to set fire to, since it would then turn this site into a circus site, and there are already loads of those.

*shrug*

In other words...it doesn't need one.

Go *other toys* Now.There's at least 2 active threads.... probably more if you do an historical search and revive some old ones.

For the record, my flatmate does a lot of fire devil stick and is currently concentrating on incorporating contact moves.. round the wrist and up the arms....round the back of the neck... round the leg. Looks very grown up, Flid! tongue

I'd guess that about half of the kids here do staff as well as poi. Mabey one in ten dabble in devilsticks.

fair enough.

I cant help thinking of devilsticks and staff being essentially two vatiations on the same theme though.

That's just it, isn't it? How many active poi and staff threads compared to this? No point having a forum for it if there's only going to be 2 active threads in it smile

Not surprised you run for cover!
Did you ever read the extensive... um.. discussion on glowstringing and Poi? well, if they're different animals, Devilstick is a separate species!
