FRD, were aiming for the middle of august (so either 12-13th or 19th-20th if possible but I need to discuss it with Guy in more detail. Dont worry there will be a post on events and gatherings so keep an eye out. Places will be strictly limited cos theres only so many people you can fit on a punt, it will pretty much depend on how many we can get i think.Motley

Why not get 2 punts? Or more? People should be limited to a multiple of 6, or however many you can get in a punt...

I wasnt suggesting we only get 1 punt, what i meant was were limited by the number of punts we can get and also whats practical in terms of how many people we can offer beds to etc
I was thinking along the lines of about 20-30 people for the punting. Sorry I didnt explain very well before

Is that the start of a dirty limerick then? 
spoke to the bloke at the granta about punt hire. He was friendly but not exactly helpful. He said he could only guarantee punts if we take them out in the morning, and could only offer a discount if we get a leisure card/cambridge student card for each punt. And we can't rent the big ones which take 10-12 people

I think talk to Scudamores too at least then we know the whole story.
What about Trinity punts? Do they do big ones? (oooo pardon!)
Or do we just punt up to Granchester for the evening and then get a few people to punt them back and walk up to Granchester meadows? That saves the over-night problems.

Talk to some Uni people: Tamara get them free as part of Darwin, if she joins the punting club (I don't think they do anything other than give free punts out). I think she gets 1 a week or something...I'll ask her about it.
If we could get 1 uni person for each punt we could do it for free...

hello cambridge folk
! lazy angel why cant u drink ? You could go anyway and just soak up the atmosphere, i may have to go a couple of days this week for volunteering, i get a lovely free tshirt and free beer but not til after it finishes for the night 
then again i might just decide to be lazy and lie in the sun (if it comes out long enough) and get steadily merry I LOVE MY BRICK!!!
