So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Durbs are still working on their itinery.
Pm them and offer them wild marsupial experiences. Paul is pretty good on Euro spotting now. Or tell them you have a whale shark in Gabes pool or something

Kels: Hmm.. I wonder if you're by any chance saving for a ticket to Australia.. Two jobs.. you could be here by the week after! smile

Went out for a burn, and got burnt (doh.) My pixie sticks got me on my left arm (what's the inside arm above the elbow called?) and it's really smarting now. Was also doing a btb huggie/crosser, second time ever on fire, and it happily smacked me on the chin.. didn't get too burnt (which is good, but the smack is always shocking.. and the position you're in you can't really do anything but cringe knowing it's coming straight for you.. frown)

Plans for the weekend. I so don't feel like doing anything. Feeling a bit patchy at the moment, and it's so not the best state to be in.. Probably will find out how to get 5 prints mounted for exhibition and send them in. Though. That means I've got to get up early tomorrow, which I don't really want to. sigh.

Lou: Yep 150+ so far.. I'm guessing it'll go up to around 300 applicants, and maybe get narrowed down to 20. Think I've got a good chance of getting in the 20, but not sure if I'll get any further. Still applying for lots of other random jobs meanwhile though..

Dropbears ubblol.. reminds me.. Puk's going to be back for this moonfest.. yay smile Haven't seen him since Uberoz I don't think..

Rest.. soo tired. Need sleep..

Gnor: lol.. Right. ubblol I heard the Durbses are in Adelaide? Lucky state. tongue Hey speaking of which!! Did you know they found a BABY CROCODILE in Gabe's pool!?!? eek Channel 7 came round and everything.. don't know how it got there, but I saw it on the telly..

Woman finds croc in pool

By Sinudra Ramavavi

18mar06

A HOME owner in Brisbane's north became crocodile hunter when she went to take a dip in her backyard swimming pool, less than three weeks after the capture of a small crocodile in the city's north.

The woman discovered a 93cm freshwater crocodile in her Everton Park pool, just kilometres from the Kedron Brook pond where a wildlife expert grabbed a 60cm crocodile on February 23.

"A woman called saying she had a freshwater crocodile in her backyard swimming pool," Australia Zoo spokeswoman Eve Sterwen said today.

"There I was going for a dip; summer's barely gone and it's still hot, you know. And there it was- this crocodile, eyeballing me from the corner of the pool. I was shocked."

It was the strangest thing that's ever happened to her in recent times, Ms Gabriel Monson explained.

"She actually caught it. It was extremely angry and she bound the snout."

"One of our staff members went down to have a look and has verified it is a freshwater crocodile."

It was a mystery where the croc had come from, Ms Sterwen said.

The Kedron Brook croc, a saltwater species believed to have spent several months in its natural spring habitat at an industrial estate, had probably come from somewhere in Australia's Top End, authorities said.

But Ms Sterwen said she could not speculate on how the "freshie" had turned up in suburban QLD, which is too developed to sustain wild crocodiles.

"The closest river is the Brisbane River but you wouldn't have crocodiles swimming in there," she said.

The crocodile has been taken to Australia Zoo, which is also home to Queensland's Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin.

Zoo officials are yet to decide if they can keep the visitor.

"I think we are (going to be) running out of displays if this keeps on happening," Ms Sterwen said.
