hey! i go to uni in aberystwyth, wales. Ive always loved watching fire dance and grow from such small beginnings, and ive always been fasinated how something so beautiful could become so destructive and painfull. (ok please dont run away just yet
I went to thailand over the summer and every night on the beaches thai locals would come out and spin, be it staff, poi or even hula hoops with double staff! They were incredible at it because not only were they doing some hard technical manouvers but they also were moving so smoothly and effortlesly, flowing from one trick to the next and dancing like they were at one with the fire. It was absolutly mesmerizing
My aim is to one day achive this fluid, mesmerizing technique as i think it is the greatest......
So i bought a fire staff on khao san road. Ok it wasnt the best staff in the world, because the wicks proceded to disintergrate (anyone else have that problem?) but after some renovation (ie screwing new wicks in, the staff itself was brilliantly made) it was perfect.
Now i have been spinning since the summer, and i love it! Not only is it a bit of an outlet for my slight ahem obsession with fire
but is also very relaxing and rewarding, and im glad i discovered it! At least if i fail my degree i will have something to walk away with at the end

YaY! another Welsh spinner! I don't know if you make it down to Cardiff or Swansea at all, but there are a few of us down here in the south.
