My cousin has recently after watching me spinning in the backyard gotten into spinning, but you see i dont feel i has built up enough skill to attempt it lit, but he insists on doing it, i mean im not one to tell him no your not good enough, but it took me ages before i was really prepared to light up, and its also a problem of i cant stop him, he wont listen, i dont know whether anybody has any possible sentimental one liners i could use to get through to him. i just dont want to see him get hurt

Print out Fire Safety Article for a start, and highlight the very first line...

Seriously dude, you gotta do searches, and utilise the articles and FAQ's (that we've created for people just like yourself) before starting new threads. Much of everything you have asked has been covered so many times. I'm sure you'll get the general vibe of these forums soon enough and start to understand the way we do things around here smile

i definately dont think spinning fire poi was as dangerous as i thought it would be. But i did practice for a couple months before lighting mine. And i have hit myself in the face and arm once, and it didnt burn me or anything. dunno what you should tell him... just follow him with a bucket of water

Lol yep, what Spacecow said. keep a damp towel or fire blanket at hand and watch him closely. It should be amusing if nothing else. smile
