Hey all
Just wanted to make sure I said a public THANK-YOU to Kyrian....
The past couple days she's been teaching me and, thanks to her, in two lessons and about 6 hours i've gone from a total newbie to a newbie who can do: butterfly, reverse butterfly, corkscrew (and reverse), windmill, chasing the sun and the 3-beat weave! Probably a couple other things i'm forgetting too... we were busy!

you have ur windmill and chasing the sun in reverse too. and ur split time butterfly. we need to get you started on those turns!!
and really she's helping me out too, i'm actually learning new poi moves again.
i have "lessons" tommorow myself, albeit on staff. don't think he ever comes on here but he's a lovely soul and has my undying gratitude for a lot of things even if he doesn't know it. And so does a rather wonderful friend of his who might read this, tho i never see him in social.
Nyx is lovely and i'm sure will quickly get better than me and then she can coreograph routines for me and meybe even teach me to spell.

Obviously nobody told Kyrian that you're meant to teach people really slowly so that you can feel superior to them for longer!

lol i tried to teach her slowly i swear but i think she got both the split time and teh regular butterfly in under five minutes. they look nicer than mine do too
but the faster i teach her the faster she cna help me, right??
btw, i did see the rubber band go flying... no really.... honest.... hush you.....

Good call Dom, Usually I just say "Dude, it's simple, just do what I'm doing..." or give them vague symbolisms like "It's just like the figure eight except pretend you're a dying tree in the middle of the desert surrounded by mimes." Then I get to feel superior for a LONG time...
