Not sure if this belongs here or Discussion. Feel free to move as needed.

So I'm starting to date someone who is 20. I'm 26, almost 27. I don't really see a problem except for the fact that he's not legal drinking age.

But at some point, I'm wondering if a maturity difference is going to pop up or not.

Anyone here have experiences with this sort of age difference? What do you think is a "significant" age difference? Anyone hear of the "1/2 your age + seven" rule?

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

If you both watched different childrens telly it's the death of a relationship.

I've got a 6 year age gap and she's Norwegian, so any cultural references go right over each other's head. And I discover there's adults today who don't know who Hong Kong Phooey is!! eek !!

One thing - I'm trying to avoid any comments and 'play' about the age difference as I think a) bringing something up repeatedly is boring b) it's lazy - I think of something else to say c) I think bringing up anything repeatedly can make it an issue, even if it wasn't in the first place.

Anyway, my rule breaking is going very well biggrin

I guess that qualifies me as old enough to be your sugar daddy. problem is, soon you are going to be earning a lot more money than me...

how pathetic would it be to be a sugar daddy for someone who makes more money than you?!?

I suspect you and I are going to have to go the kink route too...

My turn! You can be my sugar daddy, Vanize! I'm young enough. And while I'll hopefully make loads of money soon, I'll also have loads of student loans to pay off, so it won't count. tongue

E pluribus unum, baby.

Ok, Regyt? Doctor vs. lawyer. I don't know which of us is going to make more money (given that I'm going into academic medicine, almost certainly you), but either way...yeah.

And besides, I called dibs on Van. And you're gonna have to fight me to get him.

(Actually, I'd be terrified to fight regyt. She'd rip me a new one so big I'd be able to take a cannon up my arse! ubblol )

Wait, does this mean that Vanize will be sugar daddy to us all?

Lightning, you can be my sugar daddy, and Vanize can be my sugar grandaddy, if it makes you feel any better. Not that the ages quite work out, but we can pretend.

E pluribus unum, baby.

The ages work out fine. The incomes don't... Well, then again, my current income is -$30,000(US) a year.

hmm...I think I am making more than Vanize at the moment as well...he can create paintings for me, fix my car, and make me stuff though (he's really good at all of those). That ought to make up for the income differences.

I wasn't meaning to be specific though. I'm open to suggestions on who my sugar daddy could be since vanize seems pretty popular.

I think that is an acceptable arrangment. Note the change in member status.

Lies. wink

You'd last about a week and then start whining about "Wahhh, my handcuffs hurt" "Wahh, my legs are cold" "Wahh, can't we go OUTSIDE on a Friday night?" "How come I never get to use the ostrich feather?" "What do you mean you only have dial up?" "Can't we invite Mand and Spitfire over again?"

In fact, she needs the opposite. Large guys standing around her telling guys to get lost. AntiPimp Bodyguards.
