Just got back from a two day stint in sunny Fresno, Califonia. The security was a bit more than I had seen before and actually much more strict in small Fresno than in LAX of JFK. They even swabed my bookbag with an explosive tester. I started talking to the guy doing it (enter teacher mode) and he said it would pick up any fuel or explosive. Just wanted to warn everyone, you may want to mail your fire stuff ahead or not bring it at all. I know we've had trouble with mailing as well but with the added airport security in the US you may want to be careful. I'd get there VERY early if you want to transport stuff so that you have time to run back to your car if they refuse to let you check anything.
